Electronics Engineer
Job Description
Electronics engineers work on hardware and software in-flight functions such as navigation and guidance, weapons delivery, command and control, and fuel management for a variety of aircraft including B-2, B-1B and B-52 bombers, the Air and Ground Launched Cruise Missile, and the E-3 (AWACS).
Electronics engineers also work with sophisticated automatic test equipment that test such things as jet engine performance, automatic flight controls, all weather landing systems, and afterburner fuel control are in use.
An associate organization at the Tinker Air Force Base is the Air Force Material Command, Engineering, and Installations Group. This organization is responsible for the engineering and installation of communications and electronics facilities for the Air Force worldwide and employees over 200 electronic engineers.
