Job Description

Mechanical Engineers at Tinker AFB design and development of new tooling methods to improve efficiency and resolve problems in the maintenance of aircraft or engines. Other Mechanical Engineers are also involved in researching future technologies in robotics, lasers, and ultrasound in order to develop repair procedures for both the traditional and new composite material used on aircraft. Mechanical Engineers are also involved in projects working with airframe structures, hydraulic systems, environmental control, flight control, propulsion systems, improving design features and solving maintenance problems the arise during the overhaul process.
